SALES TAX — THE CITY'S BIGGEST INCOME SOURCE
Harrison's own city sales tax, counted by TAX MONTH — the month shoppers actually made the purchases. Cash reaches the city's bank account about two months later and slightly smaller (the State keeps an administrative share), so these figures will never match bank deposits month-for-month — cash-received records use a separate reporting window. The record runs 2002-01 → June 2026 with no gaps, one measurement method end to end.
PENDING MEASUREOne quarter-cent of the 1.75% behind this series expires December 31, 2026 (~$1.7M at the FY2025 tax level). Ordinances 1552/1553 put its replacement re-levy on the November 3, 2026 ballot after the March 3 defeat.

These are different streams of money, or the same money measured a different way. The displays keep their tax and date definitions separate. Distinct tax receipts may be summed on a consistent cash/date basis; a second measure of the same receipts must not be counted again.
How much does Harrison get from the COUNTY's 1% sales tax?
◆ County reports · source reporting window
- County 1%+0.25% net distributions
- Harrison share of county 1% levy
On top of its own city tax, Harrison receives a population-based slice of Boone County's 1% sales tax — $17.20M over 2020–2025 (yellow line), versus combined county 1%+0.25% net distributions (gray line).

WHY The headline annual-DFA series measures tax-month attribution before State retention, not Treasury cash distributions. For example, City-12-24-2025.pdf, PDF p.28, prints Harrison Net Distribution Amount $1,005,113.79. Earlier held PDFs are not missing cash or zero distributions.
